Location is the only ask
The app requests location only after you press Enable Location in the weather card. It never asks for camera, microphone, contacts, photos, accessibility, input monitoring, automation, or full disk access.
Privacy policy
Not much to disclose, so this is short
The Mac App Store edition of Core-Monitor has no account system, no analytics, and no advertising code. It reads system status to draw its own interface, and that reading stays on your Mac.
What the app reads, locally
- CPU activity and per-core load
- Memory usage and pressure
- Battery and power-source status
- Thermal state and warning level
- Network throughput
- Startup disk usage
- Uptime and load averages
- Your location, only if you enable the weather card
What never happens
- No account creation or sign-in
- No analytics or telemetry of any kind
- No advertising code
- No profile built about you, locally or remotely
- No personal data on a Core-Monitor server, because there is no Core-Monitor server
One network use
The network carries WeatherKit data and the Apple Weather attribution required while weather is active. Nothing else goes out.
Revoke any time
Turn weather off in the app, or withdraw location access in macOS System Settings. Everything else keeps working either way.
